Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I Trauma Center position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and Level I trauma background.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department in an academic/teaching facility
• Approximately 130 patients per day across 42 beds with 5 trauma rooms
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating not required
• EPIC EMR required for charting
• Open to block scheduling at manager discretion

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, TNCC
• Preferred certification: PALS
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, starting and maintaining IVs, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, IV vasopressor administration, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with neuro-trauma, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation preferred
• Pending license accepted

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care in a high-acuity, high-volume trauma setting treating conditions ranging from cardiac events to major trauma
• Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Must be willing to work 4 of the following 8 holidays: Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Must reside outside a 70-mile radius of the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• All RTO must be requested at time of submission, with any RTO after signing subject to manager discretion
