Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 30-bed unit specializing in telemetry and fast turnaround surgical patients, requiring an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• 30-bed medical surgical/telemetry unit specializing in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology, bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow
• Serves Bariatric Center of Excellence patients
• Patient population primarily transferred from the ED and PACU
• 1st shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7a-7p
• Weekends and holidays as needed

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS required within 12 months of hire
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

• Implements professional nursing practice centered on patient and family-centered care
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops prioritized care plans, and documents according to policy and scope of practice
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Must reside within a 75-mile radius; candidates within this radius accepted at a lower pay rate
