Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU III/IV position requiring 3 years of NICU experience, Charge Nurse background, and high-risk delivery attendance.

Details

• NICU III/IV unit within a hospital setting
• Caring for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
• Floating required to L&D with possible floating between facility campuses
• Weekend scheduling as needed to meet unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required (NRP also listed)
• Minimum 3 years of recent NICU experience required, Level 4 preferred, Level 3 considered with focused 1:1/1:2 and high-risk delivery/admission experience
• Prior Charge Nurse experience preferred
• Experience attending high-risk deliveries required
• Required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line blood draws, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and Vapotherm
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and VP shunt management preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• One professional reference required (within 2 years)

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care including respiratory support, medication administration, and developmental care
• Support high-risk deliveries and admissions as part of the care team
• Candidates floated within the hospital based on census needs
• Locals accepted at a lower rate if within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO must be pre-approved and submitted in advance, with no additions after initial submission
• Previous permanent staff of the facility are not eligible for consideration
