Description

American Traveler is hiring an Inpatient Rehab RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience in rehab or med surg nursing.

Details

• Acute care inpatient rehab unit (5W Rehab) at a Level 2 trauma facility
• 10-bed unit with private rooms and a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Patient population includes 40% stroke patients along with trauma, ortho, and neuro diagnoses with an average 10-14 day stay (adult unit only, no pediatric patients)
• Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to EPIC
• Night shift, 1900-0730, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other to every third weekend required
• Holiday rotation: 2 of 3 winter holidays and every other for remaining holidays
• CNAs available on day and evening shifts, no CNA coverage 2300-0700
• RNs perform nebulizer and inhaler treatments; RT covers CPAP/BiPAP for nights, with RN able to remove as needed
• No standby or on-call requirements
• Floating may be required to similar med surg telemetry units
• Charge nurse carries a 1:5 patient assignment and travelers are eligible to charge

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Rehab experience preferred; first-time travelers with rehab experience will be considered, and MS nurses with prior travel experience will be considered
• Two professional references required: one from a supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor

Additional Information

• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences around 11am-12pm
• Collaborate with PT, OT, SLP, and rehab physicians as part of the care team
• Unit-specific orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts
• Scrubs of any color accepted, must be clean and professional
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local
• Former Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission and require facility approval to be considered
• All clinicians are required to clock in and out at the facility
• Duos requesting the same shift cannot be accommodated, though other duo arrangements may be possible
