Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU position requiring NICU experience, CA RN license, PALS and NRP certification.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital and county designated trauma center
• Provides nursing care to stable and critically ill neonates, from micro-preemies to term infants
• Night shift, 3x12s, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM with rotating days of the week
• Voluntary call responsibilities
• Cross training and floating to Pediatrics required
• Requires Epic EMR experience

Requirements

• Current CA RN license required
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA or ARC approved vendor)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• RNC or CCRN certification preferred
• Previous neonatal transport experience preferred
• Previous experience attending deliveries for neonatal resuscitation preferred
• No prior license disciplinary action permitted

Additional Information

• Responsible for care planning, medication administration, IV therapy including blood products, and monitoring physiological changes in neonates
• Manages neonates requiring mechanical ventilation and other respiratory support devices such as nasal CPAP, O2 cannula, and high/low flow suctioning
• Supervises and delegates care to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice
• Provides education and training to patients' families
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined
• No radius rule in place; local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Candidates may only be submitted to one hospital within the Adventist Health system at a time
