Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with post-transplant care experience for a day shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring active OR RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on post-transplant care and patient education
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed per unit requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR state) required at time of submission, pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required (AHA Traditional, RQI not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in pre- and post-transplant care for heart, kidney, liver, and lung patients
• Knowledge of transplant complication recognition and management, medication administration, and UNOS regulatory compliance
• Must complete Relias exams with a score of 85% or higher
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exemptions accepted
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references not accepted
• Work history verification covering the last seven years, including city, state, dates, and PTO

Additional Information

• Coordinate all aspects of patient care before, during, and after transplantation
• Monitor post-transplant patient progress and provide education on medication adherence and post-op care plans
• Schedule and track pre- and post-transplant testing and assess waitlist criteria
• Assist with organ offers, acceptance, and recipient preparation
• Comprehensive lifetime background check required; no background or license issues accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction
• Former OHSU employees or travelers must have been gone at least 6 months to return, with a reference from their previous OHSU manager
• Upfront RTO required, not to exceed 2 weeks
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
