Description

American Traveler is hiring a Maternal Fetal Ultrasound Sonographer II with prior MFM experience and ARDMS registration in OB/OB-GYN for a clinical setting specializing in high-risk obstetric care.

Details

• Outpatient maternal-fetal medicine clinic setting
• Performs complex OB/GYN and maternal-fetal ultrasound examinations across all trimesters
• Caseload includes fetal echocardiography, detailed fetal anatomical surveys, and evaluation of high-risk pregnancies
• Provides real-time ultrasound guidance for invasive obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS
• Schedule includes four 9-hour day shifts plus a half-day Friday shift
• Weekend and holiday rotation required on an every-other-week/every-other-holiday basis
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Maternal-Fetal Medicine required
• Experience performing complex OB/GYN exams and fetal anatomy Doppler scans required
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• Must be ARDMS registered in OB and OB/GYN
• Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification preferred
• Completion of a CAAHEP or non-CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound program required, unless ARDMS certification was obtained prior to December 2000
• License required if applicable
• Familiarity with fetal echocardiography, MCA Dopplers, and fetal anatomy required
• Experience with transvaginal cervical assessment, Doppler waveform studies, and advanced volume imaging preferred

Additional Information

• Independently performs the full spectrum of maternal-fetal and gynecologic ultrasound exams under general or direct supervision
• Supports MFM specialists during complex invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Provides training and clinical support to residents, fellows, and sonography/medical students
• Reviews patient history to identify contraindications and ensures appropriate preparation and communication with patients
• Monitors exams for abnormalities or urgent findings requiring immediate physician review
• Communicates sonographic findings clearly and promptly to supervising physicians
• May assist with new-hire onboarding and other related tasks as needed
