Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN for a cancer hospital setting requiring 3+ years of IR/PICC experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit within a cancer hospital and research center
- 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- No on-call requirement
- Floating required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of IR nursing experience required
- PICC and/or bedside procedural experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line insertion/management, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with chest tube placement, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
- Experience with pulmonary and gastrointestinal studies/procedures
- Experience circulating procedures and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience administering and monitoring procedural sedation and reversal agents preferred
- Cardiac Cath Lab and scrub procedure experience
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care and support for interventional radiology and special procedures
- Assist with central line insertion and management
- Perform IV therapy and procedural monitoring during IR cases
- Required to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict state compliance timelines
- Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location soon after booking
- Candidates at extreme distances will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
- Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments
- RTO must be requested at time of submission and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
