Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery unit requiring 2+ years of experience and AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM certification.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- High volume facility with 200-300+ births per month
- Includes antepartum, high-risk antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30)
- Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM acceptable in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, venous blood draws, and IV pump/drip monitoring
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs
- Central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance experience preferred
- Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement and calibration, and spiral electrode placement preferred
- Experience with neonatal care in the delivery room, APGAR scoring, and baby catching preferred
- Experience with cervical cerclage and tubal ligation procedures preferred
- Experience managing postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and multiple births
- Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy and pitocin administration
- Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
- Experience with epidural anesthesia and pain management
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and the second from a charge RN or supervisor (no coworker references accepted)
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
- Perform triage of obstetrical patients and non-stress tests
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns, including recognition and treatment of abnormalities
- Support breastfeeding and lactation needs for postpartum patients
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if needed
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current permanent employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
- RTO must be submitted with application and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
