Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg/Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Works on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult patients (50% medical, 50% telemetry)
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratios of 4-6:1 (estimates, not guaranteed)
• Every other full weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) unless otherwise approved
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed to similar or lower acuity units
• Uses standard nursing equipment for telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR used
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (Compact accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA only, plus NIHSS certification
• Minimum 2+ years of telemetry nursing experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Required to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
• Black scrub color required
• Up to 5 days of requested time off may be approved per 13-week period, with additional time made up at the end of the assignment
• Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with facility-approved exemptions only
• Local candidates accepted, though local candidates are subject to a $10 reduction from the posted bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the radius
• Interview with the unit manager required within 24 hours of offer, with all offers subject to final manager approval
