Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a hospital-based role requiring 1+ years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• 13-week contract assignment in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics department
• 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00-19:30) or night shifts (19:00-7:30)
• Initially rotating days/nights with potential for straight shifts based on staffing needs
• Adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU work settings
• Care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, ECMO, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and SIMV
• Performs airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Performs neonatal/pediatric procedures including bubble CPAP, capillary blood gases, and neonatal transports
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active PA state license required (license required if applicable)
• RRT certification required; CRT may be considered
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Valid driver's license required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy and neuro diagnostics services within a hospital setting
• Participate in medication delivery including nebulizer treatments and metered dose inhalers
• Perform pulmonary function testing including arterial punctures and ABG interpretation
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Candidates must live over 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible
• Travelers are limited to a cumulative one-year assignment within the health system before requiring a two-year break
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Pre-start orientation modules (~1 hour) must be completed before starting at the facility
