Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring 1 year of experience and a PA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:5-1:7 days (with LPN support) and 1:6-1:8 nights (with LPN support)
- Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) available
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active RN license (PA state or compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry
- Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
- Experience managing GI conditions such as bowel obstruction and colostomy/ileostomy care
- Experience with renal/GU care including continuous bladder irrigation and hemodialysis management
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE use
- 1 supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide care for med/surg and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and response to rapid response/code situations
- Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing contract
- Must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing contract
- Any previous permanent employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed, with at least 18 months away from perm/per diem status before returning as a traveler
