Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and compact or MD RN licensure.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Every other weekend required, including 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license - compact or MD license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency conditions, IV therapy, respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, and trauma management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Orientation held every Monday
• Scrubs not provided; required color is royal blue
• Flu vaccine required for all employees
• Must reside within 60 miles for local rate eligibility
• Candidates with prior MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
