Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with Cerner experience and a compact or MD RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Rotating 3x12 mid shifts (1500-0300 or 1100-2300)
• Every other weekend coverage required, totaling 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Orientation held every Monday

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Proficiency in general ED skills for combined adult/pediatric patients, including triage, IV therapy, respiratory management, and emergency medication administration
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Perform skills such as 12-lead EKG acquisition, splinting, dysrhythmia management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Scrubs not provided; required color is royal blue
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local rate consideration
• Previous employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
