Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN with Cerner experience and at least one prior travel assignment for a 13-week contract.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Friday and Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required
• Orientation held every Monday
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD state license or compact license) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience within the last 7 years required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, Level I Trauma, and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
• Experience with pediatric emergency conditions, IV therapy, respiratory care, neurological emergencies, cardiac monitoring, triage, and orthopedic trauma

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Scrubs not provided; required color is Royal Blue
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, and no more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted
