Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/IMC position requiring ACLS, BLS, and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care (IMC) setting
• IMC ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM-7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend coverage required based on unit's operational needs
• Float required to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed, which maintain a 1:5/1:6 ratio

Requirements

• Active compact RN license or MD state RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and heparin protocols
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and pre/post hemodialysis management

• Holiday coverage is required for this assignment
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles to be considered for local rates
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off permitted during the first two weeks
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
