Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active MA RN license and 18 months of recent ER experience.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a community hospital setting
• General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM-7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required (EOH)
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Minimum 18 months of recent ER experience required
• Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and managing psychiatric, respiratory, and cardiac emergencies
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, STEMI, and stroke protocols preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
• Perform EKG interpretation, splinting, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Must pass a pass/fail tele test and medication exam during orientation; failure to pass tele test results in cancellation from assignment
• Complete pre-start and orientation modules as required by facility
• One of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) may be requested off, with the possibility of working the other two
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
