Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring an active MD or compact RN license and NCC C-EFM certification in hand.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to mother/baby unit as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• 1-2 years of L&D experience preferred, with 1 year of strong experience/skillset accepted
• BLS, ACLS, NCC C-EFM (required in hand), NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• CPI certification required for compliance, completed through Calm Every Storm online course
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Experienced in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Proficient in fetal monitoring including EFM, IUPC placement, and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance and C-section circulation
• Experienced in postpartum and newborn care including couplet care and newborn assessment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, and recovery
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn identification
• Support patients with pain management including epidural and PCA use
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local rate
• Travelers must be comfortable floating within scope with no scheduling restrictions or special requests
• Returning staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must wait at least 6 months after completing an assignment before returning to the system
