Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery float pool position requiring prior L&D experience and OH or compact licensure.

• Float pool position covering Labor & Delivery, Maternal Special Care, and Postpartum units
• 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 36 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required
• Call required
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• AWHONN Advanced and C-EFM certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior Labor & Delivery experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
• Experience with IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with antepartum, high risk antepartum, and postpartum care
• Skilled in medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin
• Experience with postpartum care including Cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
• Skilled in newborn care including assessment, discharge teaching, and infant identification
• Experience with NST and external fetal heart monitoring (EFM)
• Experience with pain management including opioids, PCA, and post-epidural management
• Central line (CVC/PICC) maintenance skills preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor-level leader; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Maternal Special Care, and Postpartum units
• Care for newborns including those with low birth weight, large for gestational age, and hypoglycemia
• Perform postpartum assessments including fundus, lochia, and perineum care, as well as breastfeeding support and breast milk collection
• Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration as needed
• Travel experience not required, open to candidates without prior travel assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for assignment after a 6-month separation from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) required promptly upon offer acceptance due to strict compliance timelines
