Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with telemetry proficiency and EPIC charting experience for a 13-week contract assignment.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with MS/Tele and Telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (0700-1930)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Travelers are first to float
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring
• Cares for orthopedic and total joint replacement patients

Requirements

• Active RN license, OH or compact license accepted
• Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• Must independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response on a telemetry-monitored Med/Surg unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam within 72 hours of signing
• Maximum RTO of 10 days per contract, with no RTO permitted during initial weeks of assignment
• More than one call-off may result in termination; no-call/no-show results in immediate termination
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space with no pass required
• Permanent address must be greater than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible to apply
• Returning RNs must have a 366-day separation from prior employment with the health system before accepting a travel assignment; PRN employees may not accept travel assignments while actively employed PRN
