Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level I Trauma hospital float position requiring CA RN license and dysrhythmia management experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a Level I Trauma hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with diagnoses spanning neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, ortho, oncology, and surgical cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float required within the hospital based on census
• On-call required
• Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems and SBAR communication
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required
• BLS certification required
• EKG certification required (facility provides)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (hard stop)
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration including nasal cannula and oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• 1 professional reference required within the past 2 years
• Current Nursys report required (pulled within 2 weeks of consideration)

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a wide range of diagnoses including neurology, stroke, cardiac, wound care, respiratory, ortho, oncology, and surgical patients
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered if sufficiently experienced
• Previous permanent staff at the facility are not eligible for consideration
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no additions afterward
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate for those within 50 miles of the facility
