Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with active VA or Compact license and 2+ years of OR experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Operating Room unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• No requirement to sign up for call, though on-call may apply in select areas such as OT, IR, or Cath Lab
• Floating required in rotation with client staff per facility policy and Joint Commission standards
• Epic EMR used, specifically OP Time (OR) Traveler module

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Level II Trauma center experience preferred
• Experience with trauma, neuro, ortho spine, general surgery, and robotics preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• 1:1 patient ratio experience
• Experience in teaching and community hospital settings preferred

Additional Information

• Scrub and support a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, and endoscopic procedures
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris equipment utilized
• All travelers must attend an EPIC training class (accelerated or 2-day) unless previously at the facility within the past 6 months
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
• Smoke/nicotine free facility
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests should be minimal and submitted in advance; some holiday coverage expected
• First-time travelers may be considered with at least 2 years of prior OR RN experience
