Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an AZ or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience with float coverage to the CDU.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department with float coverage to the CDU (Observation Unit)
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00 to 07:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Treats adult and pediatric patients including trauma, cardiac, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological cases
• Meditech charting system used, experience preferred but not required
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Orientation held every Monday

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC required; ESI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of emergency medications
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• Skilled in triage and use of isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing orthopedic trauma and applying splints

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Work within a Level I or II Trauma Center, STEMI certified, and Stroke certified facility
• First-time travelers accepted if they have more than 2 years of ED experience
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
• Locals and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• RTO should be kept minimal and included at time of consideration
• Holiday coverage is required
