Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and a hard stop requirement for acute care background.

Details

• Acute Care Inpatient PT unit within a Trauma Level II facility with Stroke Certification
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Monday-Friday schedule with 3 weekend shifts required per 6 weeks (Saturday or Sunday)
• May be required to float to a sister facility nearby
• Uses Epic for charting
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of PT experience required, with acute care experience as a hard requirement
• Trauma experience highly preferred; must be comfortable working independently in a trauma environment if not trauma-experienced
• BLS certification required
• CA license required if applicable
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Experience with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations preferred
• Experience with adaptive devices, assistive devices, and various mobility equipment preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning for acute care patients
• Work independently managing a caseload across orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Travelers are unlikely to work on holidays but may be scheduled on days surrounding holidays
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers accepted if they have acute care and trauma experience
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
