Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of hospital experience and KY or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• 1:5-6 patient ratios
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Day shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Every other weekend required
• Float required within scope of practice
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of current hospital experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions
• Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address
• Two professional references required: one Charge or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Flu vaccine required, with medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case

Additional Information

• Care for patients with cardiac, neurological, genitourinary/renal, orthopedic, and post-surgical needs
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered, must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted afterward
• Required to work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year with the system before being eligible to return
