Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:5-7
- Uses Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
- Floating required within scope of practice
- Every other weekend required
- Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS also listed)
- Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Tele hospital experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including trach, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen administration
- Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case)
- Driver's license required with address matching permanent residence
- Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor) completed within the last year
Additional Information
- Provide care for patients with cardiac, neurological, renal, orthopedic, and GI conditions
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
- Up to 7 days of RTO considered and must be submitted upfront with no changes accepted
- Travelers returning after a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
- Traveler pairs are accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
- First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for this role
