Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU Float position requiring TX/compact RN license and travel experience.

Details

• Float position supporting primarily Med Surg with PCU/Telemetry unit experience
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Alternating 36/48 hour biweekly schedule required
• Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but set schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and MS/Tele settings
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and TBI patient care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across PCU, telemetry, and med surg units with floating required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO cannot span all holidays during the contract period
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, upon arrival with zero tolerance for positive results
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a documented completion plan
• Orientation includes online learning modules averaging 2-3 hours in length
