Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma center, requiring 2+ years of OR experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit with approximately 14 rooms serving adult and geriatric patients
• Supports General OR, Neuro, Orthopedic, Vascular and Transplant surgical services
• Common procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic surgery, thyroidectomy and Whipple procedures
• Neuro cases include spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar procedures, craniotomy and laminectomy/discectomy
• Orthopedic cases include total hip and knee replacements, fracture procedures and spine cases
• Vascular cases include carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
• Evening shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 2:45pm to 11:15pm
• Floating required based on facility needs
• On-call required, approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Strong General OR experience required
• Total joint, neuro, transplant, vascular and general surgery experience required
• Experience with high-acuity and trauma surgical cases required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Part of a trauma center handling gunshot/stab wounds and multiple-injury MVA cases
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted with local rate differential
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; no time off accepted after submission
• PA fingerprints are required and may involve travel; must be completed within 1 week of signing
