Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring triage experience and an active MN RN license.

Details

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department within an acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• 3x12 Evening/Night shift schedule, with shift times of 1500-0330 and 1900-0730
• Every other weekend required
• Float required to inpatient units such as Med Surg, Ortho, Neuro, Mental Health, OB, NICU, PICU, Peds, ICU, and Progressive Care, with flexibility for one or two preferred units
• No on-call requirements
• Open to block scheduling based on unit needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required (not a compact state); pending license applicants accepted with proof of application date
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and ENPC or PALS
• Triage experience required
• Level I or Level II trauma experience preferred
• Art Line experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Travel experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level II trauma hospital
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; all RTO must be disclosed and approved at submission
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Required to complete lab work within 48 hours of signing the contract
• Minnesota Livescan fingerprinting required in person within Minnesota on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, at the traveler's own expense
• Medical or religious vaccine exemption requests must include appropriate documentation
