Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring strong telemetry skills and ICU critical care experience.

Details

• Work in a 25-bed ICU at a Level 2 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a Three Star STS Open Heart Program
• 2:1 patient ratios with around-the-clock mid-levels, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists, plus PT/OT during day shift
• No LNAs or PCTs on unit
• Uses GE Monitors, Hamilton BiPAPs and HiFlows, Puritan ventilators, and Hemospheres
• Charting is done in Meditech Expanse
• 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week (12 shifts per month)
• 4 weekend shifts per month required, with schedule built around approved RTO
• Floating required on a rotation basis with travelers floating first
• Procedures performed on unit include intubation, central line and arterial line placement, and chest tube placement

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Strong telemetry skills required
• Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications required
• Chest tube experience required
• Open heart experience, temporary pacing, and Swan-Ganz catheter experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Participate in bedside shift report with MyCare board updates completed at each shift change
• Scrub color does not matter but uniform scrubs are required
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
