Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department travel position requiring NJ or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED or critical care/cardiac experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a hospital
• PM shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Must be able to work some upcoming holidays
• Floating as needed, including to a nearby sister hospital
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC EMR charting used

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS required only for pediatric ER assignments
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care/Cardiac or Emergency Department
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Competent assessment skills across all patient age groups from pediatric to geriatric

• Perform systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments
• Deliver direct patient care and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and two-patient identifier verification
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Promote a patient- and family-centered care environment while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality
• Collaborate with the patient care team to prioritize care based on patient needs and condition changes
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and instructions
• Local candidates accepted
• Travelers may stay on assignment up to one year from the initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment
