Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with Level III experience and travel nursing background for a night shift contract position.

Details

• NICU unit in a community hospital setting
• Cares for neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• On call and weekend work required
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, NRP, and Advanced NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience or higher required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, UAC, and UVC
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries, respiratory distress, ventilator management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Skilled in neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and anti-seizure/antibiotic/antiviral medication administration
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia and thermoregulation

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include attending high-risk deliveries, APGAR scoring, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
• Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility, and local candidates are not accepted
• License must be in hand prior to start date
• First-time travelers may be considered given required experience and certifications are met
