Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Oncology Infusion outpatient position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and chemotherapy certification.

Details

• Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting in a comprehensive cancer care center
• Clinic offers chemotherapy education, social work, lab services, and an infusion suite
• Patient ratio of 6 patients per shift with 3 to 4 patients managed at a time
• Day shift schedule: either 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm
• 26-week contract, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• Clinic is closed on weekends and all major holidays

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact)
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or MSN preferred

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional nursing standards
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the care plan
• Participates in discharge planning and care planning with the interdisciplinary team
• Engages in performance improvement activities and effective use of communication systems
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides relevant education
• Collaborates with patients and families to develop and update individualized care plans
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure clinical environment
