Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring MA RRT license and Epic charting experience.

• 13-week assignment in a hospital RRT department
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Adult critical care and emergency department settings with pediatric exposure
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway management devices preferred
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• MA RRT license required if applicable
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• Skilled in chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Two references required for consideration, one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Administer medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and mucolytics
• Perform airway management procedures including intubation assist and extubation
• Support ventilator management including weaning and troubleshooting alarms
• Complete a Pass/Fail Tele test and Medication exam during orientation; failure to pass may result in cancellation of the assignment
• Complete facility training modules pre-start and during orientation, tracked annually
• No RTO allowed in the first week; up to 14 days may be submitted for review thereafter
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
