Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Neuro Med/Surg unit requiring active TN or compact RN licensure and recent Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Neuro Med/Surg unit with 20 beds and 6:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 7:00PM to 7:00AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
- Tech support available on day and night shifts; unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
- Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- Contract labor floats first, on a rotation basis among contract staff
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- Skilled in prioritizing and multitasking patient care
- Experience starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintaining surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- No work history gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
Additional Information
- Located within a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center
- Expected to deliver attentive, compassionate care with bedside shift reporting and family involvement in care planning
- Required to wear navy scrub tops and bottoms
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
