Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 24 months of recent Medical Surgical experience and current Level II trauma experience.

Details

• Med Surg unit (Surgical N6) in a hospital setting with 25 beds
• Patient population includes general and abdominal surgical cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Heparin drips/titrations administered
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift, 4x12s, 48 hrs/week (36 hrs can be accommodated if preferred)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float required across multiple campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist) and like units as needed

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• 24 months of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Abdominal patient care experience required
• Heparin experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current Level II trauma experience required
• Recent Level I trauma experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to general and abdominal surgical Med/Surg patients
• Navy blue scrubs (tops and bottoms, solids) required
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 designated Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
• Previous UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from travel assignments at other UPH market facilities
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
