Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a center-based Significant Support Needs program serving K-5 students, requiring a CDE license in-hand and special education teaching experience.

Details

• Non-clinical elementary school setting in a center-based Significant Support Needs (SSN) program
• Student population: K-5 students with significant support needs
• Caseload of approximately 10 students
• Responsible for managing and training 5-6 paraprofessionals
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
• Full-time position at 40 hours per week

Requirements

• CDE license required in-hand to begin assignment (license required if applicable)
• Required experience in special education teaching and writing IEPs
• CPI training required within first 90 days of assignment
• Preference given to candidates with SSN teaching experience
• Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) endorsement
• Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required

Additional Information

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with significant support needs
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in a center-based classroom environment
• Supervise, manage, and train paraprofessional staff supporting the classroom
• Complete fingerprinting clearance as soon as possible after signing contract
