Description

American Traveler is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a center-based Significant Support Needs program serving K-5 students, requiring a CDE license in-hand and special education teaching experience.

Details

Non-clinical elementary school setting in a center-based Significant Support Needs (SSN) program
Student population: K-5 students with significant support needs
Caseload of approximately 10 students
Responsible for managing and training 5-6 paraprofessionals
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Full-time position at 40 hours per week

Requirements

CDE license required in-hand to begin assignment (license required if applicable)
Required experience in special education teaching and writing IEPs
CPI training required within first 90 days of assignment
Preference given to candidates with SSN teaching experience
Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education (LDE) endorsement
Colorado CBI and FBI fingerprinting clearance required

Additional Information

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with significant support needs
Provide direct instruction and support to students in a center-based classroom environment
Supervise, manage, and train paraprofessional staff supporting the classroom
Complete fingerprinting clearance as soon as possible after signing contract
