Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring recent MS/Tele experience and BLS certification.
Details
- Work on a 30-bed Medical Surgical Oncology unit caring for oncology patients across all stages of cancer treatment, including end-of-life care
- RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the facility and to a nearby affiliated hospital approximately 15 minutes away
- Epic charting system used
- Integrated care approach with cancer institute and palliative care services
Requirements
- Active Oregon RN license required (pending licensure accepted)
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Med/Surg with Telemetry
- Some telemetry experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
- Experience with peripheral line care and management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Experience activating rapid response team protocols
- Computerized documentation experience required
Additional Information
- Located on the seventh floor of the facility, caring for medical surgical oncology patients
- Nurses will obtain chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire
- Skilled in supporting patients and families through all stages of cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Requests for time off exceeding 2 weeks require approval
- Royal blue scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted
- Former employees of the health system are not eligible until six months have passed since their termination date
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center
