Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for a 26-week acute care assignment requiring Epic EMR experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Float between two hospital campuses approximately 30 minutes apart, with varying weekly distribution of days
• Every other weekend required
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with InterQual Criteria for admission and utilization review
• Knowledge of CMS and HIPAA regulatory guidelines
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years (can include Charge RNs/Leads)
• Response required regarding any prior work history with this health system as a permanent, travel, registry, or per-diem employee

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, admission criteria review, and utilization review
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates with Nursys or background check hits will not be accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• Inflexibility with scheduling or RTO beyond the contracted terms may result in contract termination
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
