Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and proficiency in multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Level III trauma center with 10 operating rooms
• Operating Room department supporting diverse surgical specialties including Urology, Neuro, General, GYN, Podiatry, Plastic, Ortho, Dental, and ENT
• Diverse patient population spanning all ages
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Equipment varies by OR service specialty
• Uses Cerner EHR
• Sat-Mon shift schedule, 7A-7P
• Occasional weekend hours required
• Variable call requirements of 4-5 shifts per month

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Must be proficient in Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, Vascular, and OBGYN surgical skills
• Must score at least 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist
• Must be comfortable supporting patients and surgeons during significant traumatic injury cases
• Skilled in procedures ranging from basic, quick lap procedures to complex open abdominal and chest cavity trauma cases
• RN degree required

Additional Information

• Anticipate and provide necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for varied surgical cases
• Must demonstrate competence and confidence in high-acuity trauma surgical settings
• Facility is a Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
