Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active PA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Floating required within the hospital and potentially to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, and orthopedic patient care
• Valid driver's license, SSN, and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for a diverse Med/Surg population including neurological, orthopedic, and general surgical patients
• Must be willing to work every other holiday
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break before returning through an agency
• Travelers who complete a cumulative year within the WVU Medicine system must take a two-year break before returning
• Can only be submitted to one WVU Medicine facility at a time
• Travel pairs may be considered based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
