Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/PCU position requiring a PA or Compact RN license and cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry and stepdown patient population including CVA, seizure disorders, and renal failure cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active PA or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and PCU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care, IV therapy, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, central/PICC line management, and wound care preferred
• SSN, DOB, driver's license, and RTO details required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry and stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response participation
• Manage respiratory, renal, neurological, and cardiovascular patient needs including pacemakers, cardiac cath care, and insulin protocols
• Scrub color required is navy blue
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible, with no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront and is subject to facility approval
• Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break before returning through an agency
• Travelers who complete a cumulative year within the health system must wait two years before returning
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
