Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting
• Floats within scope to all medical units including renal, oncology, neuro, and cardiology
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days and weekends, 1:6 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Floor assignment communicated in advance or via call-in up to 1 hour before shift start for float pool staff
• Required to work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation
• No on-call requirements
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• IV start and telemetry certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with lift devices, ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner (training provided)
• EPIC charting experience required for certain units
• Pending license accepted at time of consideration

• Float pool RN providing care across medical, surgical, oncology, neuro, and cardiology units
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Free parking available on site
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius; no local candidates accepted
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Permanent BJC employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break afterward
