Description

American Traveler is hiring an Operating Room RN with 2+ years of direct OR experience, including strong robotics, ortho, and neuro case experience, for a mid-shift schedule with on-call requirements.

Details

• Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
• General OR work setting handling a wide range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedic, endoscopic, robotics, urology, bariatrics, ENT, and thoracic cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 11:00 to 23:30
• On-call required: 1 shift per week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts per month, with less than 30-minute response time
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Epic charting system preferred
• Not open to block scheduling

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• BLS required at time of consideration; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of direct RN Operating Room experience required
• Strong experience in robotics, orthopedic, and neurological surgical procedures required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana Table, and Steris systems
• Skilled in infection control, laser safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures, urinary bladder catheterization, and wound management
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required, medical/religious exemptions only
• Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required due to smoke-free facility policy

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a broad range of surgical specialties and robotic platforms including Da Vinci Xi and Mako Surgical Systems
• Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be completed promptly once confirmed for the assignment
• Strict no call-in policy enforced by the facility
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
