Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma facility, requiring 2+ years of strong general OR experience and PA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Operating Room setting with approximately 14 rooms
• Serves adult and geriatric patient population
• Supports General OR, Neuro, Orthopedic, Vascular and Transplant surgical services
• Common procedures include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic surgery, thyroidectomy and Whipple procedures
• Neuro cases include spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar procedures, craniotomy and laminectomy/discectomy
• Orthopedic cases include total hip and total knee replacements, fracture procedures and spine cases
• Vascular cases include carotid procedures, AV fistula repair, femoral-popliteal bypass and abdominal aortic aneurysm procedures
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Epic charting system used
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 10:45a-9:15p
• Floating required based on facility needs
• On-call required, approximately 6 weekday call shifts and 2 weekend call rotations

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact license required
• BLS certification required, TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Strong General OR experience required
• Total joint, neuro, transplant, and vascular surgical experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with high-acuity and trauma surgical cases expected
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration

• Local candidates accepted with a local rate differential
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate differential
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Part of a Level I trauma surgical team supporting high-acuity cases including gunshot/stab wounds and multi-trauma MVA patients
