Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring neurology nursing experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit in a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale and care of post-surgical neurology patients with varied neurological diagnoses
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with Christmas coverage especially needed
• Scrubs of any color accepted for RN
• Any RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates
