Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role requiring active WA or compact RN license, EPIC experience, and recent trauma center background.

Details

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center that is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required in hand
• NIHSS and PALS certifications required, TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience in a similarly sized or volume facility required
• 5 years of recent experience in a Level 1, 2, or 3 trauma facility preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience managing trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of ventilated or critically ill patients
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing orthopedic trauma and applying splints preferred
• Experience with arterial line management, burns, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputations preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Manage trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergency cases
• Perform triage, EKG interpretation, and emergency medication administration
• Participate in facility orientation including required modules completed and signed off by facility managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, with no exceptions and no block scheduling allowed
• Local travelers accepted at the same pay rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility or system for at least one year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
• First-time travelers with multi-facility experience will be considered
