Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NY licensure, Epic experience, and prior telemetry nursing experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit setting in a hospital environment
• Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out cases
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Patient ratios: 1:6 days, 1:7 nights, 1:8 weekends
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care/management, peripheral line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, CVA and seizure disorder management, substance withdrawal management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Telemetry monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, wound care/wound vac, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin protocols, total joint replacement care, and Cerner Bridge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Any color of nursing scrubs accepted
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO)
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this unit
• Previous employees may be considered after a 6-month system-wide break in service
