Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN with Cerner experience and NIH Stroke Scale certification for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Step down neuro-surgical unit (NPCU 5 South) within a 355-bed hospital
• Specializes in neuro, stroke, and neurosurgical patient care
• 20-bed unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
• Uses Masimo vital sign monitoring equipment
• Documents in Cerner EHR
• 12-hour day shift schedule (7A-7P)
• Works every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floats in rotation as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• ADN required
• Cerner EHR experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to neuro, stroke, and neurosurgical patients
• Outgoing personality fit preferred for this unit culture
• Scrubs of any color accepted, no cartoon patterns; flip flops, hats, and vulgar attire not permitted
• Must start orientation on one of the designated 2026 start dates (November 16th or December 7th)
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• Every other weekend coverage required
